D.F. Malherbe High School has various boys’ cricket teams that include u14A, u15A, 2^nd team and 1^st team. Our u15A and 1^st team cricket participate in the 1^st league. Our boy’s cricket has had a combined win rate of over 70% over the past three years. The 1^st team takes part in various festivals and tours that include: Pearson Cricket Festival, Theodore Spring Festival and the Union High Cricket Festival. The u15A and 1^st teams play both during the week and on Saturdays. Learners who are under the age groups of 16 and 19 are also presented with the opportunity to attend EP trials annually. Many of our learners also play indoor cricket and represent various age groups in Eastern Province. (In 2023, Ruben Aylward and Aiden de Klerk had the privilege to represent South Africa at the u15 indoor cricket world cup in Dubai). At D.F. Malherbe High School talented learners who perform well are also granted the opportunity to practice or even play for the 1^st team, no matter their age.
